Sister City - Whitby UK

In 1989 a twinning arrangement with the town of Whitby UK was formed. The towns maintain friendly relations with each other and encourage youth and adult groups and individuals to communicate and exchange visits with each other, developing human and cultural relations.
A number of visits have taken place over the years, the most notable being a visit by Andy Lowe, the Town Crier of Whitby.
