Bland Shire

McCann Park Newell Highway

McCann Park, Newell Highway

The Bland Shire is situated on the fringes of the Riverina in central NSW. The Shire's main town is West Wyalong but also encompasses the villages of Barmedman, Ungarie, Weethalle, Tallimba, Mirrool, Naradhan and Kikiora. Bland Shire Council is a progressive rural community with a blossoming economy built around sheep, cattle, wheat and other crop varieties. In more recent times, Barrick gold mine has created many employment opportunites for the region. Situated in a very central location (at the junction of the Newell and Midwestern highways), Bland Shire has beautiful parks and gardens, a rich gold mining history and many places to eat, play and stay. Please contact the visitor information centre on (02) 6979 0272 to find out more about all the events and activities that occur in the Bland Shire.
